Ready, Set, Go.

The big adventure starts on Wednesday. We head to Sydney then straight to San Francisco. Next Sunday is the Chicago Marathon. My bib number is 2039.

Yesterday I went to West End and ran a 10k at the Brisbane Road Rrunners Club. It was great to catch up with Tesso and Clairie at long last. Clairie did 20K yesterday but I was not able to stay for her finish. She was doing pretty well when on the occasions I saw her. It was also good to catch up wit other Coolrunners too. It was good to meet you Funrunner.

Craig came along to the club and did the 10K also. He really enjoyed it and has signed up as a member. Craig is doing the Half in Melbourne next Sunday.

I have been saving the big news till last. Yesterday Tigger finished the 62K Tambourine Mountain run in 7Hrs 14Mins to be the 2nd female across the line. Congratulations Tigger. What a terrific effort. It was a hot and humid day as well. When I spoke to her during the afternoon after the race she sounde bright an chirpy, not spent and exhausted.

My next post will be from the US, probably Chicago.

I can't see the gloves!!! I assumed they are packed! We are all looking forward to your updates and you cn be certain we will be tracking you next weekend.

Enjoy all three races. Remember, go out easy, steady in the middle, a strong finish ... in all 3 races.

I'm impressed with your economic packing Rob. Did you manage to squeeze the parka and balaclava in?

Tigger owes it to all that training she did with you.

Have a safe trip and good luck in Chicago!

It was a cold, wet morning as Bruce and I set off for a relaxing 15ks around the river. Much of the conversation was about Eddie and our thoughts are with him as he sets off on marathon #1. By the time he returns, the usual suspects will be back at Park Rd waiting for a full account!!! Hope the weather in Chicago is better than Bris was this morning.

I hope it wasn't too warm out there and you finished in one piece.

I won't catch up until New York, my Canada side trip is off - economic reasons.

Good luck in Niagra I hear it's starting to get a little coolish up that way.

Mick.

Having done the miles
Eddie headed off, all smiles
He travelled by plane
In search of pain
As the $ took a dive
Eddie would strive
To fulfil his dream.

First stop Chicago
And despite the embargo
Eddie stepped up to Corral-B
Just 1 fish in the sea
Of marathon runners
Which included new comers
In search of a dream.

Our fearless leader Rudd
Said ignore that thud
Eddie started his first race
Oh boy! What a pace
The markets needed a beta-blocker
So in sympathy, Eddie had a shocker
Passing the 4.30hr mark.

Now Eddie do not despair
You still have the pair
Niagara and New York
So ignore gloomy talk
As the markets pick up
It is time to show your stuff
So run Eddie run
And have some fun!!!
