Twins! Even Mum can't tell us apart! Rob Richards and Robert De Costella at the Lengends Lunch , Marathon eve, Gold Coast, July 2009. Both are Marathoners. Deek is the Legend but he has never taken as long to run a marathon as I have.
And you get a PB in the biggest smile contest. Though the only way you are going to improve on that is with plastic surgery.
Superflake is right. Deek's win in the 82 Commonwealth Games is the best Marathon ever run in Brisbane. Pity sponges are no longer a part of the marathon scene. They certainly came in handy for that odd job or two.
I agree that Eddie is a legend And so to this end Although I needed to change the plan I had to run with Eddie the Man!
So I turned up on the day Asking if we could return to plan A After 4 runs around the mountain in one week It was all that I could do to speak To Eddie the Man The leader with the plan.
Now Eddie is NOT lying When he says I am NOT flying Ewen the ultra legs have more than lost their zip They have reached the point of booking their own trip To a far away land Preferably with some surf and sand!
Now as a man of grace Eddie didn't complain about the pace We still found the odd hill At one point, I thought I would be ill But on we did run Waiting for that HOT(?) Qld sun.
As we were chugging along Tigger thought it wouldn't be long Until Eddie would be carving up the same road Minus the Tigger load Setting his legend pace And always with grace!
For sometime the legs had been feeling shot Eventually we reached a spot Where I said I needed to head for home If he wanted, Eddie could go it alone!
On our way back I commented about the weight of the pack That I had tested during the run Still hoping for that hot sun.
As a man of grace Eddie kindly put me in my place That pack has changed your gait Does this mean I didn't run straight?
Finally we got our coffee Like the others who joined the Legend Eddie I wish him well for his Bris run Remember the warnings about the Sun!

If there was a rabbit and a young blonde in that photo you guys could pass for Tweedledum and Tweedledee!
No, seriously that is a great shot "one for the billards room."
Brisbane is looming!
Rob looks great!
No, Rob looks great, Deek looks like he's not running the Brisbane Marathon!
Great photo Rob - grow a mo for Canberra.
Start sponging down your hammies at Brisbane. Nice photo Rob.
I know who would run the fastest time now ;-)

Good luck with Brisbane. Sorry, I won't be there to see you at the start and at the end.
