BRRC 10K Champs

What a good race! I went without any real plan of how I was going to tackle the race. I set out from the start with Robert Song. I left him behind for about 2 K and then he passed me making it look so easy. He is in very good form at the moment. I managed to hang onto an average pace of 4:12 - 4:15 to finish in 42:23. This has been a consistent pace for me over my last few 10K races. I was pleased to be able to do it again. I won my age category. I have a window of opportunity to do this while Ron Peters is still in the 50-54 bracket. Ron won the race yesterday by a very good margin. He moves up to my category next April.

At least when Ron moves up an age group, I'll have a few years grace!

When you took off yesterday, I didn't expect to catch you at all let alone within a couple of Ks. Still you weren't that far behind me. I am expecting to see a lot of you on Sunday.

Congrats on the win Eddie! I think you're right about Robert Song. You might be eating his dust on Sunday.

See you on the weekend.

Great work Eddie. That's a good confidence booster for the GC.

Ron should be in a category all on his own, he is in a class of his own. And to make it worse he's such a lovely person and so humble, you can't even begrudge him!

Ah, there is always someone faster. But Ron is so much faster it doesn't matter.

You ran an excellent run Eddie and gotta be happy with the bling you got.

I am amazed at that Ron. I was driving the course in my car and he was just planting it down! I was there at the 4k mark and he just took off from the guy that was behind him and put a good 20m on him so quickly.

I quickly raced back to the finish yelling out "Ron is coming!"
By the time he got there he had at least 100m on the next guy. So amazing. He just had so much determination to beat him that he pulled out all resources to come good in the end. Wish I had that power :)

Looking forward to good news from your Gold Coast run Eddie.

Looks like the conditions will be good and you'll be among friends. It doesn't get any better than that!
