A new path

I decided to go on an adventure in the dark this morning. After running a bit over 4k of my ususal route instead of turning right at the intersection I went straight ahead. I was running on a footpath I had never been on before, and it still being dark I had to be a bit cautious. I kept going until my Garmin beeped the 6K mark and turned and ran the 6K home. My 12K took me 1:02 this morning.

6 seconds per K isn't that much but you have to believe you can do it.

I am banking on most of my improvement coming from my training in the next 10 weeks. Because of the "slow" training I did uptil now, I know there is plenty of improvement left in me.

I don't know how hard you trained for Canberra and how much extra you can get out of yourself but I would have thought the six seconds is possible sometime. If not at GC this year but at another race where you can target your training to peak for it.

It looks as though you are recovering well from Canberra Eddie. So well, that you are bringing out your adventurous streak. ;-)
