The tunnel run is over. 10.435 K in 47min 35sec. Never again to be experienced and an experience not quickly forgotten. It was a very tough and very hot run. I was so glad to exit that tunnel.

Eddie and Tigger set off before dawn
On a hot and humid Sunday morn
To do a tunnel run
That was supposed to be fun!
Eddie took off at the start
But Tigger could take heart
That in the stifling heat
Surrounded by pounding feet
That Eddie wasn't there to see
Tigger's rather sore knee.
Now Tigger doesn't mind a trot
Even if the weather is hot
But the Clem 7 tunnel run
Will NOT be remembered for the fun!
In under an hour
Things started to turn sour!
At one point they had no water
Even though there was quarter
Of the run to go,
People were forced to go slow!
Numerous runners needed to be carried
As the medics rallied
To help those in most desperate need
That had nothing to do with speed!
However, Eddie the man
The leader with the plan
Did a mean pace
He's on target for his London race!
That's fast Eddie! Almost as fast as a rat up a drainpipe!
Not a ray of blazing sun
For the Clem 7 tunnel run
How on earth could it be hot?
You ran too fast, not a trot!
Left poor Tigger way behind
I thought she said you were kind
With a dodgy knee, on her own
'least you didn't hear her moan!
