Susan's program called for 28K today so running buddy Tegwen and I decided to set out from Park Road at 5:00 AM and run a circuit we run once before in November last Year. This took us out along the hilly Western Freeway bike path (naughty us) to Seventeen Mile Rocks, out through Oxley, back along Oxley Road to Chelmer, through Indooroopilly, St Lucia to Toowong, along the river to Milton and Park Road.
Last time we did this 27.7K circuit it took us 2:25. Today we did it in 2:18. Something must be working.
That brings another solid week to a close with 85K under the belt. Tomorrow is 12K easy...I look forward to that.

See it's working.
But didn't you have 28km in the plan today????? *grins*
Keep it up Eddie. Two weeks of toughness ahead of you but the following week you can breath again.
These next two weeks are likely the most important. Both physically and psychologically. You physically have been running well and strong and long. Now you up the pace and the km but will still be able to cope and recover well.
Psychologically the 100k week looms and knowing you will have that under your belt is a big positive when you are lining up at Canberra.
I'm beginning to think that will be the next time I see you - so in the meantime. Take care and train hard.
Like Clairie said couldn't you have run around the block for the extra 300m? Building nicely for Canberra Eddie. Hope it continues to be good training for you.
It has always stuck me as strange as to why runners aren't suppose to go on that Western Freeway Path.
Another good week of training in the bank. It is always nice to see improvement. You are certainly setting a cracking pace on those long runs.
endurance, strength and speed all looking good Rob! I guess you won't do 99.7 for that big week coming up? hehe ;-)
No such problem here - our 'bike paths' are 'shared use paths' :)
Susan's program is working Eddie - good one!
Great to see everything's on track, Eddie and a fantastic long run there.
Canberra's not that far away, something I am only too aware of as my own program and plans start to falter...
